Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We hav an exciting opportunity for a full-time permanent role for a clinical psychologist within the triage services.
In this role, you will work within a dynamic MDT and be responsible for completing psychological assessments and therapy for the triage short-term care pathway. This is rewarding role where you will be providing short-term psychological therapy for tangata whaiora who would most benefit from timely interventions with on-going mental health needs that can then managed by community supports upon discharge.

Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service
The Triage service provides a single point of entry for non-urgent referrals to adult mental health between 8am to 4.30pm, 6 days a week.
The service undertakes initial screening and assessment (telephone or face-to-face) of referrals to ascertain whether a comprehensive assessment is indicated within the community mental health service; or alternatively, to provide appropriate advice &/or facilitate an assisted referral to another service provider, such as a community based Non-Government Organisations (NGO’s).
The Mental Health and Addictions service deliver a variety of services across the Waikato region. We are a service undertaking a huge programme of change to deliver better outcomes to tāngata whai ora and whānau in our region. This team is committed to providing excellent evidence-based treatment for service users and values the skills and knowledge of clinical psychologist.

Required skills & experience you will need to be consider for this role:
The successful applicant will need good psychological skills and knowledge alongside the ability to work within teams and systems.
We are looking for someone who can provide a range of interventions both on a one-to-one and group basis and who is up to date with current clinical practice in psychology. You will also need to be registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board.
