The Team
Our brand new Emergency Department is one of the busiest in Australasia and sees over 115,000 patients per annum. The department is accredited for advanced training in Emergency Medicine by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. It sits within our tertiary level hospital.
Mō te tūnga | About the role
We are currently seeking 3 x Emergency Medicine Specialists; into a part time (0.8FTE) permanent role starting July 2023.
In this role you will work in our newly opened Emergency Department in the Waipapa building at Christchurch Hospital. You will be required to work across a 7 day a week roster with participation in an on on-call roster.
You must be able to work in all clinical areas of our busy department including with children. You will manage trauma, acutely unwell adults and children,
Your duties include the management of patients who present to the department, as well as the education and supervision of medical and other staff. Experience in working with senior nursing colleagues to coordinate patient flow in a busy Emergency Department is essential. You will be directly accountable to the Clinical Director of the Emergency Department.

You will need to be qualified as a specialist in Emergency Medicine either from the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine or equivalent.
