About the role
Safer People has a great opportunity for a H&S Team Leader.
This role is responsible for many tasks, including the coordination of 6 Health and Safety Advisors within the Districts, understanding hazards in the work area and aiding our people to eliminate or reduce risk.
Promoting District and Service Centre consistency and excellence in Health and Safety systems and policies in line with national guidelines and provision of advice to continuously improve performance and reduce risk.
The role is able to be undertaken in a number of locations within New Zealand.
Key Accountabilities:
- Leading and enabling a team of advisors to ensure consistent advice and support is provided to our Districts and Service Centres.
- Coordinating and implementing the national roll out of Health and safety projects.
- Identifying hazards and working collaboratively to manage risk to the lowest possible levels.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships across a variety of stakeholders both internal and external.
- Enhancing and contributing to continuously improving Police systems.
- Supporting and enabling our colleagues across a diverse range of Police functions.
- Whakamana: Enhancing the Mana and Waiora (Wellbeing) of others, so that we can all be safe and feel safe.

Experience and/or qualifications in a Health and Safety or a related field with Team Leader / management experience.
