Your chance to help revamp MFAT’s operational policies & processes using your keen eye for improvements.
Based within the Business Process Management team, as a Business Policy & Process Analyst you’ll be in the heart of what’s happening in MFAT. Your day could see you presenting fresh policies, meeting senior leadership to discuss projects, reviewing suggestions from our international Posts, and so much more. This role isn’t about being a subject expert across every operational discipline. Instead, you’ll thrive in picking up new subject areas quickly and using systems thinking to drive improvements. While we have a strong structure in place for how we deliver policies and processes, this role still has plenty of autonomy to see your ideas come to life. Supporting your work is a small tight knit team.
- Develop operational policies & processes for a wide variety of stakeholders
- Champion business process best practice across the Ministry
- Grow and maintain effective business relationships
The appointment range for this role is $90,000 to $110, 000 (negotiable depending on experience) total remuneration including employer contribution to Kiwisaver.
This is not a Foreign Policy/diplomatic role. This is a ‘Corporate’ role (known here as a Specialist role) based in central Wellington, NZ.
While it is not usual for specialist staff to be ‘posted’ outside of NZ, from time to time a specialist role overseas becomes available at one of our embassies, high commissions, missions or consulates. - Senior experience in operational policy development, business process analysis, and improvement initiatives
- Strong understanding of public service and typical Ministry operations
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills
- High level of Microsoft Office acumen, especially with Visio and Excel
- Proven ability to work autonomously and effectively prioritise work
