About the role:
The Construction Sector Accord is seeking a Senior Advisor. This is an important role within the Construction Sector Accord Transformation Programme. The Senior Advisor will oversee the design and delivery of initiatives within the Accord’s priority areas – we are building a high functioning team with a balance of complementary skills and would love to hear from you if you bring Senior Advisor level experience across policy, analysis, communications, service design and/or change management skills in order to effectively execute the Accord Transformation Plan!
The Construction Sector Accord (CSA) is a joint commitment from government and industry to work together to create a high performing construction sector in New Zealand. The CSA Transformation Team is “hosted” by the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE). This team will ensure the success of the current iteration of the Transformation Plan, build on momentum of the work done to date, and develop the plan to be fit for purpose moving forward. Skills and experience required:
- Work in partnership with the wider Design and Delivery team to gather evidence, conduct options analysis for the development of policy options and intervention designs;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partner organisations (across government and industry) to enable collaborative solution design
- Oversee a range of initiatives delivered by different parties in different ways, monitoring initiative progress to ensure they achieve their desired benefits and escalate risks appropriately.
The role will be fast-paced, requiring an ability to manage a high volume of activity while managing to deadlines. It will require a flexible approach as the nature and content of the work will change depending on the requirements of each project over time.
Knowledge and experience required:
- Previous experience in project delivery and production of a variety of policy/communications materials or/and behavioural change management.
- Flexibility to adapt within a fast-moving environment.
- Excellent organisational and self-management skills.Previous knowledge and experience of the construction industry or an ability to quickly develop and apply sector knowledge.
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise way.
- Able to think critically, analyse evidence and information and develop clear, well-reasoned advice.
- A team player who supports and adds value to work across the team and branch.
- Experience in influencing a wide range of stakeholders, including senior decision-makers and business owners.
- A track record of strategic thinking in a complex policy/business environment.
- Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
