Outpatient Administrator/Kaiwhakahaere at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley, Wellington Hospital

Service:  Patient Administration Services

Contract:  Permanent, part-time x2 roles available, 20 hours and 24 hours per week

Salary:  $64,903 - $75,480 pro rated

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

We are seeking an Administrator to join our Outpatients Team which supports a patient - s journey from referral, to a District treatment provider, right through to discharge.

We have two part time roles available, one of which is based in the Wellington Regional Hospital on a roster Wednesday - Friday, 24 hours per week. The other is mainly based in Wellington Regional Hospital, with some potential of working in Kenepuru on a 20 hour a week roster.

You will be responsible for providing quality, customer focused reception services to our patients attending clinics or making phone enquiries. You will schedule patient interactions and bookings, interact with our clinical teams to provide the very best patient journey.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the smooth running of our clinics, and ensuring that booking protocols are followed to keep waiting times to a minimum, recording and confirming patient information in our Patient Management System and following up with patients who have missed appointments.

The Outpatient Reception and Community teams provide high quality, efficient and effective administration support to our clinical teams within CCHV which enables them to focus on patient care. 

Moū - About you

  • Able to deal with ambiguity  - is able to work in an environment of uncertainty; can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty
  • Previous experience in a customer service role, particular in a high volume phone call area.
  • Good Microsoft Office Suite computer skills particularly excel
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet delivery of commitment.
  • Self-motivated and self-aware
  • Exposure in working with cultures other than their own
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate with members of the public including those who are distressed or angry.
  • Knowledge of the Privacy Act and other legislation protecting confidentiality
  • Attention to detail
  • A focus on team work to achieve common goals
  • Perseverance and Commitment
