Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

As a Nurse Specialist in Ophthalmology, your role will include: providing specialist nursing care, coordination of care and improving the quality of professional nursing practice across a variety of ophthalmic clinical areas. You will be joining an established senior nursing team who work autonomously and collaboratively with ophthalmic specialists to meet the needs of the population across the region.

You will work as part of a supportive senior nursing team committed to effective; evidence based nursing practice in the ambulatory and outpatient ophthalmic setting. Excellent supervisory, communication, problem solving and project management skills are essential.  It is highly desirable that you will be working towards or have completed a post-graduate qualification. A commitment to aid in the delivery of the intravitreal injection service would be preferable.
 

This is a Permanent part time (0.8 FTE) role , Monday to Sunday rosters shifts .

Based at Greenlane Clinical Centre (GLCC) and varying sites across the Auckland Region including Waitakere satellite clinic.

  • Are you a registered nurse with a minimum of 4 years post graduate experience and a well-grounded clinical practice background which includes working in an ophthalmic setting?

  • Do you have strong leadership and decision making skills? Do you have advanced nursing skills and experience as a level 4 nurse or other senior nursing positions? If you answered yes to these questions, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

Our busy Ophthalmology department provides high quality care to patients in the Auckland Region and offers a range of secondary and tertiary services primarily based at Greenlane Clinical Centre. We also provide services at various sites across the Auckland Region.
