Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are seeking an experienced, energetic, efficient and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Occupational Therapy team. The team is part of the wider Allied Health Inpatient team at Kenepuru Community Hospital providing assessment and intervention / therapy to patients admitted to the Health of the Older Person - s Service. Patients are transferred from Wellington Hospital for multi-disciplinary intervention with a restorative focus. The OT in this role will also provide cover on the Surgical ward and the Specialist Rehabilitation ward when required.
.The emphasis of this role is on timely and high quality Occupational Therapy input, as part of a MDT approach to delivery of care. The ability to assess and contribute to decision making and discharge planning as part of a team, is crucial for this role. This position provides mentorship to rotational Occupational Therapists, students and delegates work to Allied Health Assistants.

The successful applicant will join a team of around 34 Allied Health staff from 6 different professions. We work together closely to provide a service of high standard to patients and their families and whanau. We are a very supportive team who provide training and learning opportunities, supervision, encourage professional development and have fun and laughter along the way.
Moū - About you
- Registration and current APC with Occupational Therapy Board NZ
- Recent clinical experience in inpatient Occupational Therapy provision
- A clear understanding of the health needs of our Māori and Pacific Island communities
- Demonstrates ability to build rapport with patient and whānau from all backgrounds
- Current drivers licence
