Research Fellow (0.8FTE) Respiratory, Te Whatu Ora at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Counties Manukau, Auckland

Fixed Term, February 2023 - February 2024

 

We currently have a 12 month fixed term contract for a Respiratory Research Fellow within our Respiratory Department at Te Whatu Ora, Counties Manukau, Auckland, New Zealand.

 

Middlemore Hospital is the main hub for acute care and referral services within CM District. It is an accredited, 800 bed, teaching hospital of Auckland University and caters for most medical and surgical specialties with a catchment area of around 500,000 people. 

 

The appointee will join our large Medicine Department and a well-established Respiratory unit. We have a cohesive team that will provide a very supportive and stimulating environment for a clinician with a keen interest in clinical research. The department is active in research and has interests in a variety of areas including asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, lung cancer and pleural diseases.

 

Respiratory services include sleep and oxygen services, pulmonary rehabilitation, acute and chronic non-invasive ventilation, bronchoscopy, thoracoscopy, a fully equipped lung function laboratory, and a regional lung cancer service. We have an interventional bronchoscopy service including, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) – linear and radial, stents and endobronchial valves.

 

The successful candidate will participate primarily in clinical research, with the opportunity to contribute towards outpatient clinics (these are considered additional to the current role).
