Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

We have permanent part-time positions available, working 64 hours a fortnight (0.8FTE) as rostered across all shifts. As a Health Care Assistant you will be part of our dedicated nursing environment with full support. Your role is to work within the team to assist nursing staff in care delivery, one-to-one patient watches and other tasks as directed.

The full-time equivalent salary range for this position is $51,770 to $61,540 based on the current NZNO Nursing and Midwifery MECA, (Pay Equity adjusted) dependent on skills, experience & relevant qualifications.

We are looking for people with a mature outlook, the ability to get on with a wide variety of people and who have excellent communication skills. They will also have the ability to work in a flexible and methodical manner, demonstrate honesty and reliability, and use appropriate initiative. 

Experience within the health sector is preferred but is not essential as full training will be provided.

Applicants should be NZ or Australian citizens, or a NZ permanent resident, or have a valid visa to be considered.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Year 11 NCEA level 1 English (or equivalent)
  • Year 11 NCEA level 1 Maths (or equivalent)
  • NZQA level 3 qualification (or equivalent)*
Desirable
  • Home Carer Certificate (or equivalent)
Mandatory requirements:

*NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Health Assistance Strand, if not previously obtained, is to be commenced once orientations have been attended. 

You are required to provide proof that you have completed your primary course of NZ approved Covid-19 vaccinations.
