Senior Business Analyst, Organisational Strategy at Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children, Wellington

 We have an exciting opportunity for a creative, motivated Senior Business Analyst with heart to join our team to help develop and deliver strategy that will help shape the Children's sector of the future. Oranga Tamariki has a new direction, and we are developing an integrated organisational strategy that helps us to be clear about our role, how we will work with partners in the future, and the changes required to get us there.

Mō mātou | About us

The Strategy and Performance Group leads the organisation in the development of strategy and performance frameworks, tools and reporting, and provides advice on strategic policy and performance to Te Riu (the Oranga Tamariki Leadership Team). With our colleagues in the wider System Leadership Group we offer thought-leadership and deliver evidence-informed advice and insights that strengthen decision-making and policy settings across the Children's system, to improve outcomes for all children in Aotearoa New Zealand. 

 

Mō te tūnga | About the role

As Senior Business Analyst, Organisational Strategy, you will lead and support work on a range of key strategic products and collaborate to deliver the Ministry's organisational strategy. You will bring strong process and project skills along with clear analytical thinking, and use your relationship skills and delivery focus to support the team and senior leaders to implement the strategy and future direction.

You will be part of an agile team, that is working hard to help the organisation to focus on what's most important, imagine what Oranga Tamariki and the sector will look like in the future, and identify options for getting there. We provide connective tissue across the organisation, weaving together the strands of effort to pull in the same direction.

Our ideal candidate will have: 

  • Strong analytical, conceptual and strategic thinking skills
  • A passion for working with others to solve complex problems in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Highly effective communication skills - able to communicate concisely and clearly through written and oral presentations
  • Cultural competence, particularly in relation to Te Tiriti and Māori Crown partnership and/or a commitment to growing in this area
  • Strong relationship building skills, able to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of an organisation and with external stakeholders
  • A track record of effective organisation, coordination, and time management in juggling multiple competing priorities

Annual remuneration for this position starts between $118,257 and $131,397 dependant on experience.
