Counties Manukau District is looking for New Zealand Registered Nurses to join our hardworking, values focused team. As part of a large multidisciplinary team, the RNAA will assist with anaesthetics for adults and paediatrics in a variety of specialties including general, orthopaedic, obstetrics, plastics, burns, urology and trauma within the theatre unit while also providing assistance in other areas as required e.g. MRI, CT and Radiology.

 

RNAA training will be from 12 months for those already in the perioperative environment and up to 18 months for those without perioperative experience. This is a 24 hour 7 days a week service in which there are 8, 9 and 10 hour shifts across three shifts. The initial training will be predominantly Monday to Friday days during orientation and skill development.

 

Working across theatres at Middlemore Hospital and Manukau Surgery Centre, this is your opportunity to work with the best. 

You will enjoy working with a very supportive team and will gain experience in both acute and elective areas.

This is an opportunity for someone who would like to experience the flavour of working in the public health sector where no two days are ever the same. You will be challenged professionally with an interesting elective and acute workload that brings with it diverse clinical challenges. You will also be given the opportunity and supported to undertake AUTs new Degree bridging programme - The Anaesthetic Technician degree is a Bachelor of Health Science – Perioperative Practice Major and to become dual qualified.
