About the role
The purpose of the Capability group is to keep the frontline safe, building and enabling their capability and providing a world- class specialist response service for the organisation.
The purpose of leadership in this role is to enable and deliver Our Business through coordinated national services.
Applications are sought from an energetic and dynamic person to join Capability Group in the role of Capability Advisor: Policy and Governance.
As the Capability Advisor: Policy and Governance you will work alongside a multi-skilled team and will work with in a group that has a crucial role to play in leading the policy and governance frameworks for Police capability. You will contribute to the establishment and maintenance of effective governance processes that link with organisational governance, establishing and maintaining effective and efficient policy and information management systems to manage numerous operational policies and information requests across the wider Frontline Capability group. They will support a collaborative and integrated culture across the business. This role is responsible for working alongside sector partners, and you will need excellent communication skills to build and maintain relationships, liaising directly with key stakeholders at all levels of police and externally with key sector partners.
This is an exciting role which contributes directly to the delivery of Our Business nationally. To be successful in this busy role you will need to demonstrate:
- Experience preparing reports and presentations for key stakeholders and partners
- An ability to build and maintain relationships internally and with external partners and stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain effective and efficient policy systems and processes that achieve timely quality policy development, change and management.
- High quality skills pertaining to paper writing, governance secretariat functions and policy development and delivery
Key Accountabilities:
- Contribute to policy development, analysis, advice, and management
- Contribute to the delivery of expert policy and quality information response writing skills across a range of topics and issues
- Building and maintaining effective partnerships
- Contributing to the development of response processes with partner agencies
- Developing and maintaining a governance framework that delivers effective and efficient decision making across Frontline Capability
