About the Team:
Our newly created HR Operations team is responsible for managing the provision of a broad range of HR services and advice that support Maritime NZ's objectives and outcomes. The work undertaken by the team includes: industrial relations; employment relations; provision of business support to managers, performance planning and review, remuneration, recognition and reward, job design and evaluation.
What you'll do:
As our HR Advisor, you will be across a broad range of generalist HR Operational duties such as; drafting ER / IR / HR related documents, providing generalist HR support for managers on a range of issues (and escalating up as required), assisting with research and collating information for performance management planning & change processes and job design.
We're a small but close team who enjoy rolling our sleeves up and helping others as required. This role will suit someone who enjoys working across a broad range of tasks, wants to develop skills, has a positive attitude and is driven to succeed.
What we're looking for:
- At least 2 years' experience in most areas of HR functions, with an interest in human-centred change management (all aspects of an organisation restructure) and employment relations
- Experience in providing HR advice to a wide range of audiences and partnering with managers to support a positive workplace culture
- Sound understanding of New Zealand employment law, especially the Employment Relations Act and Holidays Act
- An empathetic and collaborative approach to working with others and supporting a safe, trusting and enabling organisational culture
- Understanding the respect for confidentiality combined with strong integrity
- Growing ability to influence and advocate HR strategies with leaders
- Comfortable working with a wide range of people and at different levels within the organisation
