Senior Functional Developer - Kotahi at Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities , Wellington

Ko tā mātou mahi -  Our Role

Sitting within our Development Practice team, the Functional Developer is responsible for converting business requirements into system designs and completing required configuration of systems.  This position will have a specific focus on the following area:

  • Kotahi (Tenancy Management system for Kāinga Ora Homes and Communities)

Working with business teams, business analysts, project leads and the wider IT team, you will research, evaluate and define appropriate solutions to meet user's need and resolve issues.  You will also document systems functional specifications and have a role in unit testing code. 

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring

  • Experience in SQL and PL/SQL would be advantageous
  • Experience with SQL Developer or similar tools and Oracle Technologies, preferably with Northgate(NEC) applications, systems and interfaces would be advantageous
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated experience in ICT / IT development OR a strong understanding of our business with an aptitude for technology
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Experience/keen with mentoring and coaching others team members
  • Experience in using continuous integration/continuous delivery and version control tools
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically across complex business issues, looking ahead for potential issues and develop appropriate solutions 
  • Analysis and design skills for technical and functional specifications
  • Have a positive attitude that fosters team camaraderie and who believe that greatness can happen when people with different skills and perspectives work together
