Roster Coordinator – Emergency Department Waitakere Hospital

50hrs/fortnight, Monday-Friday

We are looking for a Roster Coordinator located in our dynamic Emergency Department (ED) at Waitakere Hospital. A person who can think outside the box; likes a fast moving, changeable busy environment; enjoys problem solving and a drive to succeed. A motivated flexible team member who can think creatively, has excellent communication skills, collaborates, multi-tasker, thrives on challenges, and builds solid relationships.

A planner and organiser who can work positively with the ED leadership team, the Nurses (RNs) and Health Care Assistants (HCAs).

You will be responsible for the daily management and coordination of the RN/HCA rosters across our busy ED.

Ensuring available staffing resources are maximised to achieve the best outcomes.

Managing leave requests and cover unplanned vacancies within tight timeframes.

Liaising with ED Senior Managers regarding operational impacts including application of the MECAs.

Build key positive relationships with internal stakeholders including ED Managers, Staff, NZNO.

Management and maintenance of an electronic rostering systems.

Support recruitment of staff.

To excel in the position:

• Ideally at least 3-5 years administration experience within the health sector required.
• Understand the Emergency Department process and work dynamic.
• Ability to work in a complex environment.
• IT experience.
• Experience with rostering systems.
• Knowledge and skill in Mahi ē Taea roster system and Excel would be a plus.
• Able to be flexible, trustworthy, and maintain confidentiality. A positive attitude and problem-solver.
• Work across the days & hours best suited and required to manage the roster role within ED.
