The Duty Nurse Manager team is responsible for the after-hours coordination of the Nelson Hospital site at an operational level with delegated authority of the General Manager. The role works in close collaboration with Duty Nurse Manager colleagues across the district at the Wairau Hospital site to maintain patient, staff and site safety.
The role has an emphasis on leadership of staff, patient safety and management of resources requiring you to be flexible and adaptable to meet changing service needs.
This is a permanent 0.7FTE position, working an average of 56 hours a fortnight, predominantly afternoon and night shifts and weekends as this is an out of hours post.
Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)
You will be an enthusiastic and visionary Senior Registered Nurse with advanced clinical knowledge and expertise, excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously. You will have a minimum of five years recent post registration experience and with Proficient/Expert on PDRP, or working towards Proficient/Expert.
Te Whatu Ora staff must have completed their primary course of two NZ approved COVID-19 vaccines as they have direct contact with patients and members of the public.
