SEDS is excited to be recruiting to a number of new positions that have been created in response to the national increase in prevalence and severity of eating disorders. This increase in funding will enable us to expand our levels of service provision to include step up and step down services and will include the establishment of a day program and other services to improve the treatment outcomes for our tangata whaiora. We are looking for NZ Registered Health Practitioners or Mental Health Nurses to join our passionate and highly skilled multi disciplinary team as we work together to create new and innovative treatment options.

The Specialist Eating Disorders Service (SEDS) is a small multi-disciplinary team providing evidence based treatment and support to clients experiencing complex and severe eating disorders. We work in a holistic way together with our clients, their families and communities. We also lead the Midland Region Expert Eating Disorder Hub and have been tasked with supporting and developing Eating Disorder services within the Midland Region.

 

Mōu | About you

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

  • A current New Zealand annual practicing certificate, or eligibility to obtain one

  • Interest and/or experience in working with clients and families affected by eating disorders and/or other mental health problems

  • Interest and/or experience in providing quality, evidence based practice in the treatment of mental health disorders

  • Ability to contribute positively to a multidisciplinary team

  • Experience in providing education or training to other professionals

 

While we value applicants who have experience in providing evidence based treatment for clients with eating disorders we invite candidates who have a genuine interest in working in the eating disorders field to apply. Training and supervision in the evidence based models of treatment will be provided as part of your professional development. All members of the SEDS team are provided with specialist supervision and ongoing opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills.
