Casual position working as required to meet service needs
Location: Wairau Hospital, Blenheim
- Flexible opportunity for an experienced speech-language therapist
- Work may include inpatients, outpatients and community patients (adult caseload)

This is a casual position to provide cover for periodic staff leave at Wairau Hospital. The work will be with adult patients (acute and rehab), and will involve dysphagia and communication assessments and intervention. You will need to be able to work independently as you may sometimes be the only SLT on duty at the site.
The SLT team is a small team of primarily part-time employees. There are frequently days when only one SLT is rostered on at a site.
Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)
We are seeking applicants who have:
- A relevant qualification in speech-language therapy that is recognised and approved by the New Zealand Speech-language Therapists - Association (NZSTA).
- Registered member with the NZSTA.
- A current full driver - s licence.
- A minimum of three years - experience in the hospital setting is preferred.
Te Whatu Ora staff must have completed their primary course of two NZ approved COVID-19 vaccinations as they have direct contact with patients and members of the public.
