Working at the Department of Internal Affairs, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of New Zealanders. The Regulation and Policy | Toi Hiranga branch contributes to supporting the safety, wellbeing and success of New Zealand communities, and provides advice and support to our Ministers in Government.
We're looking for a Policy Manager to join our Community, Digital and Identity directorate to lead the Digital Policy team focussed on delivering the Department's digital policy work programme. The team are leading some exciting and transformational digital projects which will enable us to build a world-class digital nation that improves the lives of all New Zealanders. Working in this team will provide you with the chance to work on regulations, legislation, and more creative big thinking policy - we do it all! Right now, we are modernising our digital identification services and working on making these services easier and more inclusive.
You'll be an established people leader with experience in delivering high quality policy programmes and meeting the needs of Ministers. Leading a team of strong policy professionals, you'll enjoy supporting their growth and development and working with your colleagues to maintain the Policy Group's reputation for high policy standards.
We're looking for:
* An established policy practitioner, ideally with experience in both regulatory and non-regulatory policy areas
* Strong interpersonal relationship skills and a drive for results
* Experience in dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders.
