Consult liaison is entering a period of service development so we are looking for an RN who is adaptable to change and will participate in service development & quality initiatives. This position will offer the successful applicant the opportunity to practice mental health nursing within a biopsychosocial context across the lifespan.

The consult liaison team is a specialist team of mental health medical and nursing staff with a high level of clinical expertise, providing a consultation liaison service to general Hospital patients and medical staff.

Mōu | About you

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

• The successful candidate will be an experienced mental health nurse with a good understanding of medical co-morbidities.

• The candidate will have a good understanding of the Mental Health Act, with previous or current experience as a Duly Authorised Officer.

• The candidate will have well developed mental health and risk assessment skills, the ability to plan and deliver patient care within a nursing framework.

• The candidate will have the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within the consult liaison team, wider mental health service, Hospital service and community service.

• Providing education to colleagues is part of this role, so experience with teaching and sharing knowledge, would be an asset.

• Proficient verbal and written communication, including computer literacy is essential.
