Principal Adviser - Financial Inclusion at Reserve Bank of New Zealand, Wellington

We are looking for a Principal Adviser to join the Sustainability and Financial Inclusion Department to play a critical part in the development and implementation of the financial inclusion strategy.
Te tūranga - The role
The Principal Adviser is a key role within the Strategy, Governance and Sustainability Group. This role will play a vital part in the development of strategy, corporate documents and performance frameworks that drive forward and meet our strategic objectives on Financial Inclusion.
In this role you will:
- Lead and develop organisation-wide financial inclusion initiatives to support the success of the Reserve Bank's overall purpose and objectives.
- Work collaboratively with the senior leadership team to identify, scope and support new financial inclusion initiatives.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to implement the strategic direction.

You're enthusiastic and passionate about contributing to New Zealand's economic wellbeing. You enjoy working collaboratively with your colleagues and stakeholders in a fast paced environment to formulate the best outcomes. You will also bring:
- Highly capable strategic thinking skills and proven success in supporting an organisation to develop and deliver strategies and initiatives for business improvement and/or community based/public sector projects.
- A strong understanding of the financial inclusion landscape including options to analyse issues and the key policy and regulatory options/initiatives to address these issues within the mandate of central banks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability facilitate open discussion with senior leaders, and influence a range of stakeholders and audience.
- Strong written and analytical skills honed over 10+ years in a policy environment.
- Central banking and/or financial sector experience highly desirable.
- Ability and experience to work across our strategic initiatives - climate change, Te Ao Māori, and our work in the Pacific.
