Advanced Professional - Respiratory Physiotherapist at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Waitaha Canterbury, Christchurch

  Designated Physiotherapy role

  Permanent, full time, 80hours/fortnight

  NZ Registration as a Physiotherapist with current Annual Practicing Certificate is essential

  Minimum of 5 years with clinical experience in Respiratory essential

The Team: What we do

The Physiotherapy team at Christchurch Hospital is looking for an Advanced Professional Respiratory Physiotherapist to provide physiotherapeutic assessment and management to patients with complex respiratory conditions across outpatient services.

The Role: Where you fit in

You will provide safe and clinically effective patient assessment and intervention with demonstration of advanced respiratory knowledge and skills to manage complex presentations. This role will assist in developing the clinical capability of others and will provide clinical and/or professional supervision to staff and students.

You will be involved in quality improvement activities and creating and/or actively implementing evidenced based practice.

Your skills and experience will include:

  • A minimum of 3 years clinical experience working in respiratory
  • Broad clinical experience working in a hospital setting (desirable)
  • Good understanding of the principles of adult education
  • Experience in teaching/supervisor, training and development of staff
  • An ability to lead and contribute to interdisciplinary service development
  • Knowledge of quality improvement principles and processes
  • An ability to work unsupervised
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities

 

As part of the Cardiorespiratory and Surgical Cluster, you will be a great team member and willing to support the cluster to maintain service delivery as required.
