The office of Hon Michael Wood, Minister of Transport, Minister of Immigration, Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety, Minister for Auckland and Associate Minister of Finance is seeking an administrative extraordinaire to join the team. You will be a dedicated and committed team player, exceptionally well organised and someone who can multitask and get things done. There will be opportunities to utilise your communications and research skills.
Providing a range of tasks that contribute to a well-run ministerial office, your day will include being the first point of contact for visitors and telephone enquiries to the office, which makes experience in a customer facing role highly desirable. You will be responsible for assisting with drafting business letters and emails, diary management, making travel arrangements, processing invitation and meeting requests so a strong eye for detail is a necessity.
To be successful in this role you will have the demonstrated ability to work well as a team player and collaboratively across teams. You will thrive under pressure and can juggle competing priorities and responsibilities at short notice. A flexible approach to work is valued, along with excellent communication skills.
You'll bring with you an excellent understanding of existing government, parliamentary and public service protocols and processes and have experience in dealing with and facilitating correspondence, Official Information Act requests and parliamentary questions. This role may appeal to you if you are a recent graduate or someone who is looking to start or further your career in the parliamentary environment.
It is a necessary requirement of this role to hold a National Security Clearance. There are certain criteria that must be met in this regard.
