Joining our team of passionate midwives at North Shore Hospital, Auckland will bring you variety where every day is different while being part of a supportive team.

We handle around 4000 births a year and we offer both primary and secondary maternity care, to women and their infants. The work is diverse and interesting and we strive to ensure that all women, regardless of complexity, have a fulfilling birth experience.

You will be working within a caring team who have a great reputation for collegiality and mutual respect. We encourage our midwives to develop professionally and take on leadership roles within the service. Our team is highly innovative and have received numerous awards for leading excellence in maternity care.

Our orientation programme is individually tailored to ensure that you are fully supported as you become familiar with our service and systems.

Waitemata offers ongoing guidance from Midwife Educator to ensure both a supportive environment and that you are able to keep your registration and practice above the national guideline standards.
