Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The Waste Orderly is responsible for providing a high quality service which involves the removal and transportation of waste from hospital wards and departments to designated collection points around Auckland and Greenlane Hospital sites.
At the Auckland site, all waste is driven to another building for compaction or storage awaiting collection so if you have truck driving experience that would be fantastic however this is not essential.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
The work will involve manoeuvring of a variety of containers including wheeled bins, plastic bags and larger industrial sized collection containers. Use of specialist machinery and equipment may be required with appropriate training and instruction in safe working practices.
As an ideal candidate, you will have:
- A valid full drivers licence and have truck driving experience however not essential
- Knowledge of industrial machinery desired however not essential
- Professional and pleasant attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Physical fitness to carry out everyday duties such as lifting, carrying and walking long distances
You will need to have valid New Zealand working rights (ie. New Zealand / Australian Citizen, New Zealand Resident or a valid work visa) to be considered for this role. As such, this role is unsuitable for overseas candidates.
