Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

  • 12 Months Fixed-Term Opportunity
  • Pre-Construction - testing new Housing Delivery System
  • $98,417 salary per annum + 5 weeks annual leave (pro rata)

Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role

Construction & Innovation - The Construction and Innovation Group supports Kāinga Ora to grow its public and supported housing portfolio through the design and development of high quality homes that meet the needs of the community now and in the future, and by driving innovation across the construction sector.

Project Velocity is an exciting project, initially setup by Construction and Innovation, which has used manufacturing and business improvement techniques to design a new Housing Delivery System (HDS) to speed up processes, improve consistency, control and transparency. New ways of working are being trialled that aim to remove duplication, reduce waste and increase building capacity.

We have set-up a Mini-Business Unit (MBU) in Christchurch and we need forward thinking and agile people to join the Team delivering pre-construction activity and testing the new HDS at scale and with different typologies.

The new HDS uses integrated and co-located teams that undertake all the tasks associated with public housing delivery. Work for the week is planned and agreed as a team and allocated. This is an exciting and work environment, with the HDS concept relying on people being co-located together. This means team members are physically located in the office, every day between the hours of 8:30am and 5pm.

Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role

The Assistant Development Manager - HDS will assist the MBU team responsible for the development and delivery of programmes of work, project feasibility, business case development, key stakeholder and community engagement, contractor/consultant appointments and the ultimate delivery of housing.
