The details: Permanent - 2 roles - 16 Hours per week (0.4 FTE) - Rostered Monday to Sunday

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We require dynamic health care assistants with a passion for rehabilitation in the community setting to join our team. An opportunity has become available for 2 permanent, part-time Health Care Assistants to join our Supported Transfer and Accelerated Rehabilitation Team. Although this position is based in Hamilton, our service covers the rural towns within the Waikato district. Travelling is therefore part of this position. The vehicle is supplied.

START (Supported Transfer and Accelerated Rehabilitation Team) is an Older Persons and Rehabilitation led programme which provides and promote rehabilitation of patients within their home environment primarily for over 65 year olds and Stroke patients of all age. START aims to reduce the pressure on hospital beds, through avoiding hospital admissions, earlier discharge, preventing readmissions and improving the quality of care for this group of patients.

 

Mōu | About you

The health care assistant we are looking for will:

  • have experience working in the community setting preferably with the older person

  • assist with the routine activities of daily living within the patient’s own home

  • work within an interdisciplinary team to meet patient goals

  • provide care delegated by a registered nurse or allied health professional

  • commit to ongoing education and development

  • be a team player

  • hold a full New Zealand drivers licence

  • be eligible to work in New Zealand
