We are offering a fantastic opportunity for Therapy Assistants to join the supportive, diverse and innovative engAGE Community Allied Health Service at the Te Whatu Ora Health NZ Te Matau a Māui Hakwe's Bay to cover a parental leave position.

We are looking for an ‘all rounder’ who wants to be part of a values driven and supportive team, who will support and work with our team of clinical staff, (Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Dietitians, Speech Language Therapists, Therapy Assistants).

 

You will  work closely with clients and their whānau under the direction of our clinical staff, assisting with interventions and rehabilitation plans to help older people and people with complex disabilities to remain independent in their own homes for longer and also supporting those transitioning home from hospital.  This may include the provision of equipment and other interventions such as overseeing exercise programmes prescribed by the clinical team. A high level of autonomy paired with a recognition of the boundaries of the role will be essential but the ability to learn, take direction and know when to ask for help are key attributes we are looking for.

 

You will need to have reasonable computer literacy and good verbal and written communication skills.
