As an Associate Hearings Case Officer, you will have the opportunity to administer the process for hearing proceedings cases to ensure they progress smoothly and efficiently to a hearing before an Assistant Commissioner. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, case law, and internal practices and policies as well as facilitating and maintaining effective and professional client relationships.

The IPONZ Hearings Office is a quasi-judicial Tribunal that is critical to the overall effectiveness of the intellectual property legislative frameworks in New Zealand for patents, trademarks, designs, plant variety rights and geographical indications.

Skills and Experience Required
- A curious mind and the desire to learn and grow, with high levels of emotional intelligence
- Excellent plain-English writing skills (good structure, clear and concise)
- Sound interpersonal skills and a focus on client service
- Strong critical reasoning skills
- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in a litigation environment is required.
