About the team/position
This position sits within the Planning Performance and Risk (PPR) team which is part of the Organisational Strategy and Systems business group which leads, partners and supports Maritime NZ's core purpose as the national maritime regulatory, compliance and response agency.
The PPR team manages a range of functions from enterprise performance and reporting, risk and assurance, change and investment, business improvement, business continuity, and protective security requirements.
This role leads the Protective Security Requirements (PSR) capability roadmap design, development and delivery across Maritime NZ. This involves working with functional leads across Governance, Information, Physical and Personnel Security, ensuring best practice PSR processes and policies are embedded within our organisation protecting our people, information and assets. It also manages the Maritime NZ personnel vetting process, and works closely with others in building business continuity planning capability across Maritime NZ.
About you
You will be able to leverage the opportunities and good progress made to date to lift Maritime NZ's PSR maturity. You will bring a collaborative approach, with real drive and initiative to continue to drive this important work forward.
You will have knowledge and experience of the government mandated PSR frameworks, and experience in delivering activities within the physical security, personnel and/or information security space in a diverse environment.
As you will be responsible for the security clearance vetting process for Maritime NZ staff (which is a small percentage of our overall staff), you will ideally come with a transferrable security clearance or the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET national security clearance. .
To oversee and drive the PSR roadmap you will need a people centric approach to establish excellent relationships (both internally and externally), and the ability to engage and gain buy in from a range of stakeholders will be key to your success. Self-drive and enthusiasm to make an impact will really come to the fore and your sense of humour (and fun) will be important too!
