Nelson Hospital - s 10 bed Medical Admissions and Planning Unit (MAPU) supports patients with multiple medical conditions to be assessed by doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and social workers, so that a comprehensive care plan can be put in place. This improves the patient experience and decreases waiting time for investigations and treatments. You will have plenty of opportunity to use all your skills, with daily learning opportunities.
We have a temporary position available, covering parental leave, from early May 2023 to 9 November 2023 working rostered and rotating shifts Sunday to Monday.
Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)
You will be a NZ Registered Nurse with a current NZNC practising certificate and post-registration nursing experience in acute care. You will also be a team player, who enjoys keeping up to date with clinical practice, with excellent organisational and time management skills and a commitment to quality.
Te Whatu Ora staff must have completed their primary course of two NZ approved COVID-19 vaccinations as they have direct contact with patients and members of the public.
