Assessor - Customer Information Requests at Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children, Canterbury

We currently have permanent opportunities in our Customer Information Requests Team for customer focused candidates to be based in our offices in central Palmerston North, Wellington or Christchurch. This role is a Monday - Friday, business hours position.

About the role | Mō te tūnga

As an assessor you will be relied upon to read and assess our customer's personal files and trusted to release information that they are entitled to receive under the Privacy and Official Information Acts.

This is a demanding role and you need to be able to communicate with customers to understand what matters to them and read and interpret large amounts of information that includes both electronic and paper files. The material you will be reading will be sensitive and you may find the content challenging.

Your role will be to make informed decisions about what information they can receive making sure that they get the information they need.

In this role you will have the opportunity to apply your skills and experience towards the wellbeing of Tamariki.

 

Annual remuneration for this position starts at $58,525 with further increases through time spent in role. We offer a vibrant and supportive team and a genuine commitment to wellbeing.  We welcome diversity and are committed to working in an inclusive and respectful way.

 We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • A working knowledge and understanding of the Privacy Act 2020 and the Official Information Act of 1982 .
