Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

Our team of Sterile Services/Theatre Technicians work in our modern Operating Theatre suite at Nelson Hospital sterilising and processing reusable instruments and equipment for the operating theatres and other hospital departments, as well as assisting nursing teams with patient transportation, theatre cleaning and equipment provision.

Permanent employees have the opportunity to study towards the National Certificate in Sterilising Technology (Level 3/4), from the New Zealand Open Polytechnic; the cost of which will be met by the hospital, if not already attained.

The full-time equivalent salary range for this position is $52,260 to $61,823 dependent on skills, experience, and registration in NZ.

This is a part-time position (0.6 FTE) working 48 hours per fortnight. Hours will be flexible, rostered and rotating Monday to Friday.

Te Whatu Ora staff must have completed their primary course of NZ approved COVID-19 vaccines as they have direct contact with patients and members of the public.
