Te Whatu Ora Waitemata is the largest mental health provider in NZ with services for children, adult and older adult as well as specific services aimed at specialised populations including two regional services: Forensic Mental Health Service (Forensics) and Community Alcohol and Drugs Service (CADS). It has strong collaboration and partnerships with a number of Non-Government Organisations (NGO) and Primary Health Organisations (PHO) in the region.
This is an exciting role which will work closely with the Adult Mental Health Leadership team and the other nursing leaders across the Mental Health Service Group.
Working with the Nurses, Team Managers and Leaders of the Adult Mental Health Services this role will provide specialist Forensic Mental Health Nursing advice, skills and knowledge to the Adult Mental Health Service teams. The role includes provision of coordination and liaison between Regional Forensic Psychiatric Services and Adult Mental Health Services, facilitating transfer of care of Service User’s.
The successful applicant must have proven leadership and clinical expertise in Mental Health and Forensic Nursing and have demonstrated active engagement in their own professional development.
To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated and self-directed Registered Nurse with the following:
- Post graduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing with a current Annual Practising Certificate
- A current Level 4 or senior nurse professional development and recognition portfolio
- Minimum of five years nursing experience in the mental health, forensic and addictions sector
