Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are looking for a senior nurse to join the Children - s Health Team in the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist- Cardiology.
The Children - s Health Service CNS is a clinical expert who uses advanced nursing knowledge and skills for direct care, with the role influencing high quality clinical care and equitable health outcomes.
This senior nurse provides expertise and specialty advise while interfacing and working in primary, secondary and tertiary environments. The CNS focus is on assisting, directing and supporting the care of Children, young people and their whānau with a wide range of cardiac conditions through demonstrating expert clinical skills, promoting best practice, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and providing education.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
We have an interdisciplinary team of Paediatricians, Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Allied Health staff in the Children - s clinics providing outpatient consults, assessments and treatment for paediatric medical, surgical and specialty patients with an MDT approach where possible. Services are also provided at Kenepuru Child health.
Moū - About you
You will need to demonstrate effective communication skills and an ability to negotiate with key stakeholders in a busy and dynamic environment.
This role is based in Te Wao Nui, however you will be working closely with services in regional hospitals and in the community to facilitate care.
It is vital you can work in a team as we value your contribution towards innovation, taking responsibility for your own professional development and working a part of a team with all that this encompasses.
Essential : Relevant post graduate qualification is a Clinical Postgraduate Diploma (required) with support to work towards a Clinical Masters in Nursing.
Comprehensive knowledge of the NZ health system and the district environment systems and processes.
Expert Level on PDRP as Expert senior needs to be applied for when in the role (or attained within an agreed timeframe).
Preferred: Expert specialty knowledge and skills to share with others for practice development.
