Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Trial Coordinator to join our team within the Starship Research and Innovation Office, in Grafton. This is a fixed term role providing parental leave cover. Starship Research affords children and families in paediatric care the opportunity to participate in high quality observational studies and clinical trials, leading to improved clinical outcomes.
Working as part of the Starship Research and Innovation Office, the Clinical Trial Coordinator provides research coordination and research support to teams across Starship Child Health. This involves a number of stakeholders within Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally including Starship based researchers and clinical staff, collaborative groups/networks, Universities, hospital sites, registries, and pharmaceutical sponsors/Contract Research Organisations (CROs).
In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to investigator initiated and commercially sponsored trials in a variety of ways including protocol design, contracts and budgets, ethics/locality approvals, pre- and post-grant award support, and supporting recruitment activities for selected trials.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A relevant Health Science degree
- Project management training or experience
- Knowledge and experience of study set up and delivery
- Experience working in a clinical operations setting
- Good Clinical Practice certification (GCP)
- An understanding of the clinical research cycle
- Knowledge of the clinical research landscape in New Zealand and an understanding of the research regulatory environment
