This role represents a significant development opportunity for a capable emergency readiness practitioner to make their mark and build their industry presence. As one of two Lead Advisors for Response Management, you will be completing the great work that has been started in designing and implementing our integrated incident readiness and response capability function.

As a member of the Regulatory Leadership team, you will work in conjunction and partnership with central and local government, the water sector and Iwi Maori as you build and further develop our incident readiness and response functions.

Your key responsibilities in this role will be:

  • Continued development and implementation of readiness and response frameworks, policies, processes, tools and guidelines.
  • Development and implementation of a response management resource model that meets statutory obligations.
  • Undertaking an active response leadership role to any significant drinking water incidents.
  • Leading and managing water incident readiness and response planning, learning and monitoring.
  • Maintaining strong working relationships between Taumata Arowai, drinking water suppliers, Local and central Government agencies to promote an integrated approach to readiness and response.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has significant experience providing high level advice and analysis.
  • Is adept at translating legislation into operational policy, procedure and business processes.
  • Has strong knowledge of emergency management principles, practice and procedures.
  • Has a sound understanding of the principles of risk management, readiness, response, reduction, and recovery.
  • Can build relationships and earn credibility at all levels to engage, influence and challenge where necessary.
