Digital UX Designer at Accident Compensation Corporation, Wellington

  • Wellington based opportunity with 9% superannuation
  • Work from home 3 days per week
  • Fixed term to 30 June 2024 with potential for renewal

If you are a passionate and enthusiastic Intermediate UX Designer looking for a new challenge with a high degree of autonomy and impact look no further! We are looking for a Digital UX Designer with at least 3 years of experience to join us in the ACC's Product Design team.

What will you be doing?

We don't just talk the UX talk - we regularly get in touch with our customers to understand their wants and needs. You will be working on the future of ACC. We have big plans, and we want passionate people at the coal face making it happen.

In the role you will be:

  • Creating easy to use and valuable products.
  • Mapping the path forward for our customers and their experience of our digital products.
  • Working within an agile team of focused developers, testers, and business analysts.
  • Surrounded by a supportive Design team, and wider Digital team.
  • Involved in all stages of design from research through to live product.
  • Active in user research and testing. And an advocate for great and high-quality design practices.
  • Sharing your technical knowledge to help your team understand the "why" of your design.
  • Working on multiple customer facing products - MyACC, MyACC for Business, and our websites just to name a few!

We'd love you to have:

  • At least 3 years of proven UX/UI Design experience evidenced by a portfolio of work showcasing your interests and skills.
  • An ability to communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions clearly and effectively to relevant stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an iterative and collaborative Agile team environment.
  • A proficiency with Figma. You ace auto layout and have experience working with complex components and pattern libraries.
  • The ability to focus on solving the problem and addressing users' needs. You look at the big picture and know how to prioritize your design efforts.
  • Knowledge of research methodologies and their application within the design process.
  • An understanding of UX writing best practices is a bonus.
  • Curiosity, inclusivity, and you are customer focused.
  • An understanding of the NZ Government Web Accessibility Standards.
