Health Care Assistant – Rangatira Ward, Waitakere Hospital
• Permanent, full time (1FTE) role available
Rangatira Ward is an acute general medical paediatric ward, which cares for children aged 0 - 15 years with a range of short and long-term illnesses and disabilities. We are a close knit team, committed to providing quality, family centred care. We work closely with the Children’s Community Nurses, Paediatric Outpatient services, Primary and Public health providers and Emergency Care Centres.
We have a full time position available for an individual who has worked in a health care setting as a Health Care Assistant or related occupation, or who has previously worked in a caregiving role. The ideal applicant will preferably have a NZQA Level 3 National Certificate or similar. Alternatively, you will be committed to taking part in the Te Whatu Ora National Certificate programme Level 3 (earn and learn) at the first available opportunity.
Previous experience working with children would be advantageous, and a current CPR/first aid certificate is highly desirable.
In addition, the successful applicant will be someone who thrives in a team environment, possesses great communication and time management skills, with a mature, positive and enthusiastic attitude.
