You will be joining a service that is committed to high standards of practice.
Mental Health Support Workers work closely alongside the nurses supporting and providing support for the rangatahi working towards their recovery. You will support nurses with delivery of patient care assistance, TDP (therapeutic day programs) and activities. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills on a shift by shift basis. The focus is on delivering individualised, evidence based and multi-disciplinary interventions within an inpatient setting, that are holistic, recovery focused, and promote wellbeing and independence.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
This is an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Support Worker to join our multi-disciplinary team at the Regional Rangatahi Adolescent Inpatient Service (RRAIS), based at Kenepuru Hospital.
The Rangatahi Unit is a 12 bedded mental health acute unit that provides a service for adolescents who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness. RRAIS is one of three adolescent inpatient services in New Zealand. It is a regional service for the lower North Island providing for adolescents from the Wellington region up to and including Gisborne.
We are a dynamic and enthusiastic team with a passion for providing specialist assessment and treatment to rangatahi aged 13 to 17 years inclusive and their whanau. You will fit into a strong team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across all our disciplines.

Are you a mental health support worker who has the following:
- Holds a relevant Level 4 mental health support worker certificate.
- Meet police vetting requirements
- A full NZ driving licence.
- Some experience in mental health
