We are looking for a Scrum Master to join us on a permanent basis. The Agile community at ACC is committed to growing and developing people. We welcome applicants who have Scrum Master or Agile experience or knowledge, as well as those who may not be strong in these areas but are curious and willing to invest in their own development.
About the role:
The Scrum Master plays a crucial role as a servant leader and is responsible for several areas, including coaching team members, removing impediments, encouraging experimentation, and supporting continuous team improvement. As the Scrum Master, you help to maximise the value created by the Scrum team and protect the team from external distractions. In this role you will play a key part in the Pathway to Wellbeing Agile Release Train (PART).
The PART brings regular improvements and enhancements for frontline staff, providers and injured New Zealanders. The focus of PART is on prioritising the highest value work for our customers and staff to improve their experience with ACC and the Path to Wellbeing.

What you need to be successful:
- Scrum Master knowledge essential (PSM1 certification or the like)
- Scrum Master experience (preferred but not essential)
- A working style that embodies Agile values and principles
- An Agile mindset and Servant Leader attributes
- Demonstrated experience coaching, growing capability and developing Agile mindsets
- Experience in an Agile environment
- Knowledge of breaking down epics, writing user stories, and estimating
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and facilitation skills
- Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders
- A growth mindset and willingness to be part of a community that loves to learn.
