Senior Advisor Governance at Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children, Wellington

Mō te tūnga | About the role

Through your support of the Governance Manager, you will assist in providing advice to the Chief Executive and the Oranga Tamariki Leadership Team on governance matters, as well as managing processes to ensure an effective and efficient governance system.

A key part of this role is to contribute to an efficient and effective secretariat function to governance committees and boards.  You will work closely with Chairs and committee members to provide strategic and operational governance advice, as well as giving support and guidance to the organisation to ensure our committees are getting high quality information for decision making.

You will work alongside an exceptional, supportive and knowledgeable team with opportunities for learning and development, and a new governance system will provide you with the opportunity to influence and establish best practice governance processes and protocols.

 

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

To succeed in this role your experience will include:

  • Have experience in developing, leading and providing advice on governance processes
    • Design and implement pragmatic process design and improvement
    • Have experience providing secretariat services and advice to committees, boards, project teams and other similar groups
    • Have strong analytical skills to support informed decision making
    • Understand the public sector, ideally with an understanding of organisational governance
    • Are highly efficient in managing multiple priorities and delivering high quality work, on time

Annual remuneration for this Band 17 position starts between $100,441 and $111,601 dependant on experience.
