Applications are invited for the 2024 year for a 6 to 12 month attachment in Rural Hospital Medicine. This is an accredited training position for the Division of Rural Hospital Medicine. We highly encourage applications from our Māori communities.

Candidates who have completed two years post graduate hospital and who have an interest in rural medicine will be considered.

We provide an excellent generalist training environment with a broad and interesting case mix.

Clinical supervision is provided by Rural Medicine Specialist, Emergency Medicine Specialist and General Physicians.

Thames hospital is a 50 bed rural hospital with a busy emergency department.

Thames is a coastal town known as the gateway to the Coromandel Peninsula. There is easy access to native bush with world class walks, tramps and surf beaches in this popular recreational area.
