Do you want to work with hapori (communities), hapū and iwi to meet their aspirations for recovery from the devastation of Cyclone Gabrielle? We are looking for someone with a passion for working with hapori to lead the Secretariat function for the Cyclone Gabrielle Appeal Trust.

The Manager Cyclone Gabrielle Appeal Trust will advise the Trustees on the distribution of public donations to hapori, hapū and iwi impacted by Cyclone Gabrielle and flooding in January and February 2023. This is important mahi, where you will make a difference to the lives of many.

You will manage a team of dedicated community and operational advisors, to work with hāpori, hapū and iwi to understand and deliver to their aspirations for recovery and provide Secretariat support to the Trustees.

The Cyclone Gabrielle Appeal Trust is an independent charitable Trust, with the Secretariat managed within the Hāpai Hapori Community Operations business group in Te Tari Taiwheuna Department of Internal Affairs. The Secretariat is being established, and will likely include hapori advisors, based in the hardest hit regions who will build relationships with hapori, iwi and hapū, and an Advisor who will prepare advice and support for the Trustees.

You will be an experienced people leader with a drive for collaborative working and an eye for detail. Experience in hapori, hapū and iwi-led development and te reo Māori me ngā tikanga would be beneficial.
