Te tūnga | The role
In this permanent role, working across cross functional teams and reporting to the Manager of Insights, you will work closely with the Design, Planning & Insights and wider Collections unit to lead a small team who deliver well thought out experiences that add value to those who interact with Stats NZ. Your role will largely focus on collecting insights, reviewing feedback, and finding pain points that can be solved with a more considerate user experience. You will be comfortable operating autonomously, introducing new methods and approaches that help Stats NZ deliver a great experience, while enabling the wider Collections teams to deliver better user experience.
Stats NZ's mission is heavily reliant on a team of exceptional humans that understand customers' needs and can turn these into quality user experience.
You will also:
- provide strong leadership for exceptional User experience and process improvement with strong influencing capabilities
- Bring collaborative approach, strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to quickly build credibility and trust across diverse groups
- Provide guidance for cross-functional data gathering processes to get the best outcome
- Lead day to day operations and capability building within the team
- create effective communication channels with all internal & external key stakeholders
- Take responsibility for the health, safety, and wellbeing management of your team

This role is based in Auckland within our Collection Operations Team, which is a nationally based team of around 400 staff who collect the data New Zealand needs.
