About the role
Civil Aviation Authority is seeking a Senior Advisor Governance and Executive to join their small team providing high quality advice and support across the Authority. This key internal facing role works alongside the Authority Board, Authority Leadership Team and Leadership and Management Systems (LMS) Committees.
Reporting to the Principal Advisor you’ll be responsible for providing secretariat services and governance advice to the ALT and LMS Committees to ensure the Authority’s overall governance system is aligned and working effectively.
Key to this role will be the close working relationship with the Committee Chair to ensure committees are correctly established, board papers are managed appropriately and considered advice is provided.
This is a great opportunity to bring your knowledge of governance and secretariat functions to ensure the Authority’s governance decisions, systems and processes support its strategic safety and security objectives.
This is a permanent position based at our Wellington office.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience working with, advising and supporting Board of Directors and Committees.
- Strong relationship management skills to establish credibility and trust at all levels of the organisation.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and can relate with people across all levels and functions of the organisation.
- A person who will be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and be able to provide support to the Manager Governance and Executive, executive leaders and the wider organisation.
- Demonstrate excellent judgement, decision making capabilities, and the ability to influence.
- Excellent administrative capabilities including minute taking and record keeping.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the machinery of government and government accountability processes.
