Permanent positions available
Negotiable FTE
As a Registered Nurse, you will be dedicated to providing exceptional care while working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients within our community.
Our theatre nurses put their expert relationship-building skills into practice, always demonstrating the core nursing values of patient-centred care, trust, and respect in every interaction.
Due to staff movement we offer multiple opportunities to gain experience and exposure to a wide range of surgical specialties, including Vascular and complex Laparoscopic surgeries. Our acute Theatre runs 24/7 and we have an Orthopaedic Trauma Theatre which runs 6 days out of 7.
We have a large population catchment, which means our teams are involved in some very complex surgical procedures, both elective and acutely, hence the learning opportunities with us are vast.
Education and professional development are a priority for our team. We have dedicated education time for all of our nurses. We will support and encourage you to advance in your theatre nursing career. Professionalism, care, improvement and teamwork are integral values for our department. We are looking for people with a “can do” attitude who share these values.
The wider Perioperative Team includes 7 theatres (soon to be 8), 15 bed PACU and Day Surgery Unit. We cover all secondary public hospital specialties and perform on average 12,000 procedures per annum.
To apply for the role, you must have:
- Current registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand as Registered Nurse.
- Hold a current annual practising certificate as Registered Nurse.
- Hold a currently assessed nursing portfolio as assessed via an approved Profession
It is an advantage if you have worked in an operating theatre previously but we are currently taking on Nurses from other departments to train and support.
If you are a team player and you demonstrate initiative come and join our Theatre Team. You will be joining an experienced and well-established family friendly workplace.
If this sounds like you, review the Position Profile HERE and apply now!
