ICT Physiotherapist & Senior Physiotherapist - Intermediate Care at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Te Toka Tumai Auckland, Auckland

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a New Zealand Registered Experienced Physiotherapist or Senior Physiotherapist to join our Community Intermediate Care team. This permanent, full-time or part-time role based at Greenlane Clinical Centre, allows you the opportunity to be part of a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team with strong professional support to enable you to optimise both your profession’s specific practice and a community health focus.

Being part of our Intermediate Care Team involves working with patients either transitioning from hospital to their homes or by preventing admission to hospital by providing evidence-based, acute care for a short planned period for patients aged from 16yrs, presenting with a wide variety of conditions. Intermediate Care includes HITH (Hospital in the Home, R-CAT (Rapid Community Access Team) and Interim Care Beds in both community and private hospital settings. Intermediate Care service is a 7 day service which operates from 0730hrs to 2200hrs.

In this role, you will be participating in a 7-day roster which offers the flexibility of days off during the week and extended long weekends. Flexible working hours can be offered for Allied Health Professionals between 0730hrs to 1900hrs. 

No two days are the same, you work within a team of health professionals with a strong IDT focus who value collaborative team working, and have the privilege of working with patients within their own environment.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

 As the ideal person for this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • New Zealand registration as a Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • 2+ years proven, post-graduate clinical experience
  • Clean, full New Zealand drivers’ licence
  • Excellent clinical reasoning skills and value evidence-based best practice
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary bicultural environment
  • Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
  • A flexible, pro-active approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

The senior role entails but is not limited to:

·         6+ years proven, post-graduate clinical experience in relevant areas

·         Supporting orientation of new staff

·         Preceptorship and support towards junior staff members

·         Acting as a mentor in complex situations and an ability to make sound clinical judgments

·         Participating and leading in quality improvement initiatives

The remuneration for this position is covered by a collective agreement (PSA Allied, Public Health Scientific Technical MECA)

Salary Range for Physiotherapist:  Step 1 $58,513 to Step 10 $89,701 (Depending on Experience)

Salary Range for Senior Physiotherapist: Step 9 $87,192 to Step 12 $98,499 - (Depending on Experience)
