Midwife Educator Midwifery Development and Education Service

Full Time Permanent Role 

We have an exciting opportunity available for a midwife to become a Midwife Educator, who will coordinate and support students undertaking the BHSc (Midwifery) programme at Auckland University of Technology. 

Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau in association with AUT is committed to actively supporting the clinical teaching and learning of undergraduate midwifery students. 

This role will lead and facilitate student midwife clinical placement teaching and learning, based in the Middlemore hospital birthing and assessment unit. 

The scope for this role will include regular liaison with key personal at AUT Department of Midwifery and oversight of midwifery clinical placements across Women’s Health division. 

Growing the next generation of midwives is a key component to strategic workforce growth. We welcome applications from experienced midwives, with a passion for sharing their skills and knowledge and the vision to enable midwifery workforce growth for Counties Manukau. 

This joint Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau AUT role is now structured to enable Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau employment via the MERAS MECA senior midwife remuneration scale. 

Essential: 

• Registered NZ Midwife with a current APC
• 4+ years midwifery experience
• Strong communication and relationship skills
